Obviously after a certain point in time it's all speculation based off literature. But we do know for a fact that we are direct descendants of Mary Towne Easty. She is my 9th great grandmother. Mine is Issac Jr- Aaron Sr- Aaron Jr- John - Jason- Archibald- Ira Martin - my own father, Larry. I am currently working on a novel of fiction but with real life truths of The Salem Witch Trials. I've been visiting my parents in Texas and I concentrated more on them than the internet (then came back & Blogger decided to tell me of a bunch old comments awaiting moderation it had never mentioned before -- I've been trying to play catch up tonight). It was a different experience to encounter an ancestor with so very much written about her, and so many digitized records. I had to figure out how much I could leave out and still tell the story. I'm more used to have not very much to build a post from.
Jo Hennhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17566276500934815959noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4967992205144808298.post-16501038591561049692018-10-24T07:52:17.991-04:002018-10-24T07:52:17.991-04:00Fascinating, Jo, a remarkable brush with history.Fascinating, Jo, a remarkable brush with history.Dara https://www.blogger.com/profile/16643201998217385573noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4967992205144808298.post-71878034190768335422018-10-22T00:26:01.892-04:002018-10-22T00:26:01.892-04:00Thank you! Dreams and "spectral evidence" and speculation aren't evidence, not even hearsay evidence, at best its fantasy. It was a horrible miscarriage of justice. She was my age. I taught The Crucible in my English classes a few years ago, and still find it amazing the way people can be found guilty based almost solely on hearsay. Great job on your research and supporting documents.
Miss Quotedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06937275545237943156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4967992205144808298.post-72691609529862536432018-10-16T22:00:00.045-04:002018-10-16T22:00:00.045-04:00It really was. 20 people died in this vengeance-an...It really was. 20 people died in this vengeance-and-religious-extremism-driven hysteria: 14 women and 5 men hanged, and one man pressed to death by piling big stones on him (as they tried to get him to confess, he famously only said, “more weight.”).
